Istanbul{TURKEY} an ancient living city

Vibrant, colourful and buzzing with life,ISTANBUL has always been the city on the cross road.It has been poised precariously between the East and West,Islam and Christianity. It seems to lead two parallel lives.Till date the city is divided in to two distict quarters,European and Asian. It is believed that the first human settlementin the city dates back to 5500 B.C.Since then ISTANBUL OR CONSTANTINOPLE has served as the capital of legendary Roman,Byzantine and Ottman empires. This has been proved by ruins and monuments. As with other ancient cities of the world,ISTANBUL'S past is riddled with glory, turmoil and upheavals. But at the end of the day it is a valiant survivor.

Varanasi,the ancient Indian city

Varanasi is solace. Varanasi is peace. Varanasi is serene. Varanasi is everything a troubled heart seeks for and much more. Nobody knows when was this city established, however historians think the city was founded nearly 3000 years ago.It was found mentioned in ancient Hindu and Buddhist texts. It was remaining stronghold of Hindus for yrars before falling under the sway of the Mughals in 17th century. The legends, myths and the aura surrounding the great city led author Mark Twain to famously remark "Banaras is older than history, older than tradition, older than even legend". According to Hindus it is situated on the Trident of Lord Shiva. Various scholarly books have been written on the serene environment of this place. Even today, the city boasts off as many as 6 different universities within its fold, a feat almost unmatchable in India. Banaras Hindu University, popularly called BHU, is the largest residential University in Asia. Till date Varanasi continues to revolve around its reigning deity Shiva, and legendary ghats by the Ganga.

The city is situated in eastern Uttar Pradesh in INDIA ,best time to travel is from october to march. There is an airport in the city with also railway connection.

Delhi,the soul of INDIA

Delhi, where a empire rose and fell before the dawn of history; where citadels of emperors appeared and disappeared; a city of mysterious eternity whose old ruins proclaim a majestic and imperial past and whose present pulsates vibrantly with the ever flowing life of India. The eternal Jamuna bears witness to the glorious and tumultuous 5,000 year old history of Delhi. A history which begins with the creation of Indraprastha by the Pandavas and the transformation of this barren gift of the Kauravas into an idyllic haven.
If you bunked your history lessons, you might not remember that Delhi is a composite of eight cities whose existance is verified by its more than 20000 ruins.. Tthis is a land that has absorbed the influence of the pandavas, the Rajputs, the Moghuls, the British and the Indian nationalists and several others in between. In its lifetime,Delhi was frequently been razed to the ground by invading conquerers, looters and plunderers. Delhi is now busy transforming itself to a modern world capital, certainly not at the cost of its historical treasures. This is a city that wears the crown of historicity with a becoming grace and peace.

Delhi is a symbol of religious unity. The Jama Mazjid of the walled city is an excellent example of Indo-Persian art, whereas the Birla Temple and the Chattarpur Temple complex are considered as a blend of the North and South Indian architectural styles. Gurdwara Raquab Ganj, Sheesh Ganj and Bangla Sahib stand tall for Sikhism, whereas St. Thomas and St. Columbus toll their bells for Christians. The Bahai Lotus temple has introduced the Bahai way of worship in Delhi. Not to forget the ancient religions of Jainism and Buddhism whose genesis is in India. The monastery near the Interstate bus terminus is hub of Tibetan culture in India. Not only for the Monastery but the place has acquired fame as shopping mall. Though 'Parsies' reside mainly in western India, Delhi opens its arms for one and all.

The World famous Taj-mahal in Agra is very near to Delhi.Monuments like RedFort and India Gate are note worthy..There is Indira Gandhi International airport , one can fly from any major cities in the world.

Stay healthy on your travel

Human can not avoid diseases,so when we travel we have to adopt some precautions. When we are packing our bags, gifts, clothing and photographic instruments,we should not avoid to include a medical kit.

When we are travelling abroad,it may not just be expensive to buy drugs,we may find it to be highly complicated, almost impossible to get medication that is not available over the countries. Thanks to lax laws in INDIA where prescribed drugs are available over the counterbut this does not happen in all the foreign countries.

We could be in trouble in foreign countries if we are carrying some prescribed drugs without attestation of the physician. If we need to take medication containing habit-forming or narcotic drugs(typically pain killers) with us,we have to carry a doctor's certificate duly attested in other word we should ask our doctor to write on a letter head that the drugs are essential for us. Some countries require national health adminstration to certify this
We should tell and ask our travel agent to verify that we don't violate the law of country of destination. We should ask our doctor to write the generic name of medicine instead of trade name because it is not same in all the countries.

Why we travel

The man has five senses. He cant live without its gratification.Travel is one of the way for that. Universe is subjected to constant change. How human being can get rid of that? Man always wants changes. When we are in a single place for a long period of time or in a single environment ,we feel monotounous. We want a change and we travel.Sometimes some world events like FIFA world cup or olympics attract us to move there. Ofcourse it depends on ones interest. On the same travel we tour the nearby places of attractions. Some professional travellers take travel as a challenge. They catch the memory in their camera. Some move to see the things in their eye to which the news paper don't accomodate.Travel is the way to sharpen the edge of life. Beautiful places always attract the human. We travel for our own satisfaction and it depends on following criteria. 1-Financial viability 2- availability of time 3- Facilities available at destination. 4- our physical fitness.
